Roopesh Balakrishnan: Roopesh Balakrishnan. I'm the Senior Manager for the Cloud Solution, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Data Science at Magna.

Joshua Karpenko: Magna is a technology company specializing in production and automotive supply.

Roopesh Balakrishnan: It's the future of manufacturing that focuses on integrating various systems and advanced technologies in the production process. The vision is always creating an intelligent shop floor in Magna by leveraging connectivities, automations, and real-time insights to optimize each and every minute manufacturing process. This includes the use of technologies like robotics, cloud data science, and big data analytics.

Lauren Wirth: A big part of the job is testing new equipment to make sure it works within the company, which is really fun and exciting, especially for IT people because every IT person's dream is to use all the new technology.

Interviewer: Why do you like working at Magna?

Joshua Karpenko: I like working for Magna because it's different every day. You never know what you're going to walk into. You don't ever have that repetitiveness. There's always something new for you to do, there's something new to achieve, new people to meet. It's never boring.

Lauren Wirth: I enjoy the collaborative environment. I enjoy the support of a team and hard work and effort we put in together. We share ideas, tackle challenges, and share each other's successes.

Interviewer: Do you feel like the culture at Magna is inclusive?

Roopesh Balakrishnan: Yes. We always tell the team to come forward and share your ideas. It doesn't matter whether you are an intern or you have 10 years of experience or you have 15 years of experience. We always tell the people to come forward and share their ideas because we wanted everyone to work together toward our shared goals.

Interviewer: Will Magna support you if you want to grow your career here?

Joshua Karpenko: Magna has so many different tools for support in growing your career, it's almost hard to put in words. I know some of my peers are getting master's degrees through Magna or different technical certificates. However, that's not the main benefit of Magna. The main benefit of Magna to advancing your career is the people here. We have some of the best industry experts working here that are able to share their knowledge on the topic that they specialize in, in order for you to better your understanding of what you're trying to achieve.

Interviewer: Would you describe Magna as Shakespeare or Einstein?

Lauren Wirth: I think Einstein is the core of Magna. Between mobility and our innovation, it's what makes us click.
