Live commerce platform Whatnot recently announced the opening of its new office in Dublin. The location, which will serve as Whatnot’s European headquarters, supports the company’s growing Ireland workforce of more than 130 people.
Whatnot’s platform lets users buy and sell items ranging from collectibles to branded fashion accessories, and connect with like-minded individuals over those products. Users can participate in auctions, flash sales and live show giveaways, as well as browse Whatnot’s marketplace for specific items.
The company plans to double the size of its Ireland team over the next 18 months and is hiring talent across engineering, AI, operations and strategy. Whatnot will also open to businesses in Ireland in 2027. As the platform has recorded a nearly fivefold increase in Ireland-based shoppers over the past two years, its next step will be to provide local shops and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to sell on its global marketplace.
