Kids Academy: Fundamentals of Programming with Scratch, March 21 at 6 p.m.

This is a free four-week programming course for eight to twelve year olds that meets every Monday from March 21st to April 11th.

Earning Free Press For Your Brand, March 22 at 7 p.m.

Learn how to identify journalists to reach out to and how to pitch so they’ll listen. We’ll also look at tools to use to track and monitor pitches and etiquette for following up.

The Courageous Triumph of Making Mistakes, March 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Hear from Spredfast’s Laura Baker and Jaime Netzer, who are responsible for the company’s social media, website and content strategies. Together they’ll walk through the process of Spredfast’s recent website redesign, and how they’ve transformed the site into a destination for social marketers.

GeekAustin SQL / MySQL Class, March 23 at 7 p.m.

This is an eight-session class taught by Mark Lehmann. The class meets on Wednesdays once a week for 2.5 hours (2 hours for class, 30 mins available for office hours). This class is designed for those without SQL or MySQL experience. The instructor will use MySQL to teach basic SQL concepts.

The Art of Persuasive Communication to Increase Sales, March 25 at 10 a.m.

This day-long workshop focuses on audience analysis for designing effective, persuasive messages.
