On Saturday, November 3rd, Chicago-based startup, UrbanBuddy, held an informal gathering for attendees of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization 2012 national conference at 1871, a hub of startup and technology innovation located in Chicago’s merchandise mart.

The event started with an exclusive tour of 1871. Located in the famed Merchandise Mart, the 50,000-square-foot facility provides Chicago startups with affordable workspace and access to mentors, programming, educational resources, potential investors and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs.

The tour was lead by Arvin Dang of Starter League. The Starter League is an amazing company, housed right in 1871, that teaches 300+ beginners how to build web applications from scratch a year. Their focus is to get you to build, design, and launch your ideas in just 11-weeks.

Following the tour Brendan Hennessy and Scott Weisman of LaunchPad Lab, a top Chicago web development firm, held a Q&A on what it's like to work with a development firm as you are building your product. Participants learned what to expect from web developers and what they will expect from you.

The event was developed by UrbanBuddy, a Chicago-based startup that offers on-demand local experts, like Tripadvisor™ in the flesh. Throughout the weekend of CEO 2012 National (Nov 1-4), UrbanBuddy provided unparalleled support and exclusive local events for the 1400+ attendees.
