TiE is the world’s largest not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs and professionals committed to promoting entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking and education. Formed in 1998, and located in the Chicago region, TiE-Midwest is a not-for-profit gathering of industry leaders joined together by the values of merit-driven advancement. Sharing the values and philosophy of the TiE Global organization, TiE-Midwest members have demonstrated marked achievements in advancing entrepreneurship both personally, and vicariously through the lives of other TiE Midwest members. .

TiE Global currently has more than 12,000 members, 1,800 charter members and 200 sponsors in 53 chapters across 12 countries.

TiE’s Charter Members are part of an exclusive network of high-profile business leaders that are committed to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs. Charter Members are successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and academics involved in the fields of information technology, biotechnology, material science, manufacturing, health care, and life sciences. Charter Membership is by invitation only, and in the Midwest, there are nearly 50 local Charter Members. It is a select group of Who’s Who in entrepreneurial Chicago.
