These Chicago Companies Made the Inc. 5000

Inc. Magazine just published its annual Inc. 5000 report, and 221 Chicago companies made the list.

The Inc. 5000 ranks the country’s fastest-growing privately held companies by percentage revenue growth over the past three years. To be considered for inclusion, companies must have booked at least $100,000 in revenue in 2019 and at least $2 million in 2022. Chicago companies that made the list include players in media, fintech, insurance technology and healthcare. 

Here are the five tech companies leading the pack:

#11 — Songfinch: Songfinch offers professionally written-to-order songs — complete with lyrics and melodies in your chosen style — for $199.  The company grew 23,991% between 2019 and 2022.

#46 — Zero Hash: Zero Hash’s technology helps companies integrate crypto into their own offerings. The company has grown its revenues 8,589% in the past three years.

#79 — 1440: Named after the year the printing press was invented, 1440 is a news aggregator that aims to distill news stories down to the facts. The company grew 5,764%.

#109 — Kin Insurance: Kin Insurance offers tech-enabled, direct-to-consumer home insurance, supported by more than 450 employees across the country. The company has grown its revenue by 4,342% over the past three years.

#138 — TransLoop: TransLoop is a tech-enabled logistics company that uses AI to optimize the process for carriers and shippers. Its revenue has grown 3,692 since 2019.
