[ibimage==20137==Original==none==self==null]A Spare to Share is a closed, trusted, social communication and sharing network within apartment buildings, condominiums, offices & social clubs.

Have you ever thought about all the valuable stuff that is sitting around in homes, closets, garages and offices of the world collecting dust? What if you had a way to see what your friends and neighbors had and were willing to lend, rent or sell? What if you could easily tell people what you are looking for before you buy it? How cool would it be to scan a bar code of something while you are in a store and find that your neighbor across the hall in your building has the exact item and would lend it to you?

Looking for some tools for a project? Go on line and see who has that router. Your son suddenly takes an interest in the trumpet? See if someone you know has one taking up space in their closet before deciding to buy one. Need some folding chairs for a party? Search for ‘party’ and not only find tables and chairs, but also be reminded that you could use a serving platter, a large percolator and a fire pit. This is now possible thanks to A Spare to Share!

And we are not talking about sharing with strangers you meet on Craigslist. We’re talking about a closed, exclusive network of people you already know and are friends with, or people you may not have met yet but see regularly in your building or office. And you can meet them for an item exchange in a safe place; the lobby of your building – often in front of your doorman - where both you and your stuff are anyway.

And it doesn’t stop with stuff. Friends staying with you for the weekend and you're looking for a parking spot for them in your building? Post a request and see if someone’s spot is available? Looking for a group to walk over together and see the fireworks? Post a request.

We help building and office managers create social communities among their tenants, and manage their sharable items & space (reserve the party room through the system). We help people save money, make money, keep track of their items, and get to know their neighbors. We sell our service to the building managers who provide it to their tenants. But the service is also valuable to individuals who may not even be ready to share. Part of the product is an image-based virtual shelf of your items (see image below) that can be downloaded to a spreadsheet, emailed to friends and even sent to your insurance company.

We have a functioning beta website up at www.ASparetoShare.com. Give it a try; it's free for individual users! For a limited time we will input your data for you if you register and then email photographs of your DVD shelf, video games, CDs or bookshelf to [email protected]. Don’t forget to include your username in the email.

For more information feel free to contact me, Greg Jaros, at [email protected].
