When was the last time you wanted to make a big purchase, but for the cheapest available price? Maybe it's a new TV, a flight to visit family, or two tickets to see the Bears play. These aren't impulse purchases, so you will probably shop around before making a decision. This usually involves a long period of time visiting a variety of stores and/or websites until you find a deal that fits your budget.
For a flight, you might visit Expedia, Orbitz, and Priceline every day for a week. For a new TV, you'd spend a month walking in and out of Costco, furiously refreshing your favorite deals site, or hoping that Groupon finds a shipment of TVs. This is all a huge waste of time (just ask your boss). And since you might not be looking in the right places for the lowest price, it's not all that efficient either.
What if there were a dashboard where you could post all of the things you want, and it would tell you what the best current price was across the web? What if you could enter a budget for each item, and the service would alert you when an applicable price was found? Then, all you'd have to do is click a link, and make the purchase!
That's what BudgetBoard is: a dashboard for the best prices of all of the things you're thinking of buying.
BudgetBoard primarily makes money through affiliate purchases, which allows us to give away this amazing experience to users for free. As the application grows we hope to sell our data to retailers so that they can gain more insight into pricing and product demand for future deals and promotions.
