Bay Area-based AMD has acquired MK1, bringing its team into the AMD Artificial Intelligence Group as part of an effort to advance AI performance, efficiency and enterprise capabilities across hardware and software.

According to AMD’s announcement, MK1’s Flywheel and comprehension engines are optimized for AMD Instinct GPUs, delivering “accurate, cost-effective and fully traceable reasoning at scale” while handling over a trillion tokens per day for large-scale deployments.

The integration of AMD’s compute infrastructure with MK1’s software expertise is expected to accelerate enterprise AI, enabling customers to automate complex business processes and explore high-value applications.
