AI-powered search platform Perplexity has acquired Visual Electric, an AI design tool. The company will form a new Agent Experiences group at Perplexity.

Backed with $2.5 million in funding from investors including Sequioa Capital, according to TechCrunch, Visual Electric’s platform lets designers generate images using AI and edit them on an infinite canvas. It also allows users to turn their images into videos.

The company will sunset its platform over a 90-day period during which its existing customers will retain access to their accounts, in-app credits and work. Its annual subscribers will receive prorated refunds and have the opportunity to export their data before Visual Electric shuts down. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
