Palabra AI, a London-based provider of AI-powered language translation solutions, announced its acquisition of Talo, a platform for live multilingual communication. Alongside the acquisition, Palabra is launching a new product suite that will make its technology available during everyday conversations.
Leveraging the integration of Talo’s team and tech, the company’s new suite of tools features several new offerings. Palabra now supports video calls that use a Palabra bot to interpret conversations, live webinars with real-time translation streams, broadcasts and streams that translate for creators and media platforms and live events where audience members can listen to real-time interpretation from their phones.
This new product suite is built on Palabra’s API platform that enables custom voice translation across enterprise tools and consumer apps. The company works to preserve a speaker’s original tone, timbre and rhythm during simultaneous voice translations, and its platform supports over 60 languages and 3,000 language pairs.
Following the acquisition, Talo’s brand will temporarily remain for existing users before transitioning fully into Palabra’s platform.
