OpenAI has acquired Software Applications Incorporated, the company that developed Sky, a natural language interface for macOS. According to a company statement, the acquisition will bring Sky’s technology and team into OpenAI to help integrate its features with ChatGPT.

Sky lets users control their Mac through natural language, with the AI understanding on-screen context to perform actions within apps for a more seamless, integrated desktop experience.

“We’re building a future where ChatGPT doesn’t just respond to your prompts, it helps you get things done. Sky’s deep integration with the Mac accelerates our vision of bringing AI directly into the tools people use every day,” Nick Turley of ChatGPT said in a statement.

Following the acquisition, OpenAI will also absorb all members of the SAI team.
