OpenAI is strengthening its capabilities again with the acqui-hire of Convogo, a San Francisco-based company that uses AI to streamline candidate interviews. Its technology is designed to make leadership assessments more efficient for coaches and consultants.

The company’s founding team, Matt Cooper, Evan Cater and Mike Gillett, are joining the ranks of OpenAI to advance the generative AI giant’s AI cloud efforts, according to reporting by TechCrunch. While OpenAI isn’t acquiring Convogo’s IP or tech stack, the latter will rest its product following the move.

This deal is OpenAI’s ninth acquisition within the past year, the article mentioned. As part of OpenAI, Convogo’s founders will further the company’s work of discovering what’s possible with the release of each new AI model and implementing those possibilities to yield real-world outcomes.
