Yesterday I went to the opening meeting of Notre Dame's re-energized Irish Angels. Looks like a great group and they have a great strategy. They are utilizing Notre Dame's unique characteristics and imprinting them into their group.
What was especially interesting to me was the amount of thought and preparedness ND angel leaders did to give them the best chance of success.
If a university is going to do a group, it needs to really think about all the working aspects of the group. These things can't be bureaucratic, and most universities are.
This isn't brain surgery, but economic incentives have to be aligned correctly. It's important to get the right symbiotic relationship with the university.
ND's participation also validates the Chicago ecosystem. We have momentum. Time to take it to the next level.
I wish them the best of luck. Slainte!
