Seattle-based Mynd.ai, a provider of hardware and software solutions for the education, business and public sectors, has announced plans to acquire the intellectual property related to an AI-powered voice and remote-control technology. The developer has not been disclosed.

According to a company press release, the technology allows users to control PCs and Macs using voice commands and can connect to any classroom display, enhancing flexibility in educational settings.

In a statement, CEO Arthur Giterman said the acquisition supports Mynd’s mission to give educators more freedom by automating tasks and reducing reliance on stationary equipment. Chief Product Officer Lance Solomon stated the acquisition will also enable Mynd to integrate AI features into its Promethean ActiveSuite and Explain Everything platforms.

The deal is expected to close within the quarter, according to Mynd.
