Milestone Systems, a video technology company serving sectors such as law enforcement and traffic management, has launched a new AI and analytics solution that brings generative AI into security operations. It includes features like natural-language search, automated video summarization and privacy-focused anonymization.
Despite rapid advances in generative AI across many industries, security teams often still depend on manual workflows for reviewing footage, documenting incidents and anonymizing video. According to a news release, this reliance can increase the risk of missed alerts or false positives, which can carry significant consequences.
Milestone’s new solution is intended to reduce those risks by providing more reliable, AI-assisted support during critical moments. For instance, investigators can use natural-language queries to quickly locate relevant video content, while the system can automatically generate written summaries of footage to streamline reporting.
At the core of the platform is Milestone’s compliant data library. The company said its dataset is built through fair-exchange agreements with customers worldwide, with video content anonymized using Bright AI technology and categorized using NVIDIA tools across more than 300,000 labels.
