3 months ago, 107 teams came to 1871 with an idea for a startup. They created business canvases and went out into the market to validate them. They interviewed literally thousand of customers, worked out supply chains and logistics, found some awesome advisors, created win-win partnerships, and went from an idea to revenue stage in 3 months.
And along the way, a fantastic cadre of folks from the community stepped up to help them out. It is truly amazing to see what an awesome community we have here in Chicago. Thanks to everyone who helped make the Chicago Lean Startup Challenge a success. Together we helped create over 20 businesses and helped another group of folks realize their idea didn't have merit, saving them lots of time and money. This was a truly gratifying experience and we couldn't have done it without you.
