The Heico Companies, a Chicago-based company that acquires businesses in the manufacturing, construction and industrial services sectors, recently added Kershaw to its portfolio. Kershaw, a rail maintenance and vegetation management company, supplies machines to railroads worldwide.

The company will join Heico’s Heavy Equipment Segment, or HES, alongside Pettibone, BARKO and ARDCO, under the Applied Solutions Group within Heico. The acquisition aims to leverage Kershaw’s offerings to deliver integrated solutions and increase scale, enhance resources and deepen market reach in the heavy equipment industry.

“The addition of Kershaw to The Heico Companies’ Heavy Equipment Segment will increase our scale, drive growth and foster greater innovation through collaboration,” Derran Smith, HES president, said in a statement. “This move strengthens our market leadership in rail maintenance, vegetation management and adjacent maintenance-of-way sectors, positioning us for long-term success.”

The Heico Companies also recently acquired Ohio-based Electric Eel Manufacturing, strengthening its Sewer and Drain Segment through the addition of Electric Eels’ sectional drain cleaning machines, drum machines, sewer cables, pipeline inspection systems and other product lines.
