Road to Code Fundamentals: Foundations of Programming & Intro to Functions, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.

Hack Reactor ATX at 800 Brazos will host a workshop series to learn the very basics of coding. At this module, attendees will learn to use the foundation of Javascript, including syntax, functions and values. This is for people who are brand new to coding and need assistance with the bare basics. Please bring your own laptop. 

AnacondaCON, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.

Continuum Analytics will host AnacondaCON at the JW Marriott beginning Tuesday evening. Engage with enterprise customers that use Anaconda, foundational contributors and thought leaders in the Open Data Science movement. 

Civic Hack Night, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Civic Hack Night will take place this Wednesday night at Chicon Collective. Developers, designers, writers and data analysts of all skill levels with an interest in contributing to civic apps are encouraged to attend. Please bring a laptop. 

A Roundtable on Fake News and Social Media, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Open Austin is co-hosting with UT Law and EFF-Austin a roundtable discussion on “fake news” and social media at Townes Hall. Guest speakers will include Ross Ramsey, co-founder and executive editor of the Texas Tribune, Warren Hanes, the "Godfather of Intellectual Property" at Facebook from 2007 to 2013, and Ryan Garcia, managing legal director at Dell and Law and Social Media Professor at UT Law. 

Career Lab, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m.

Join GA Austin at WeWork this Saturday for the first ever Career Lab to start or advance your career in tech. Learn about new paths in web development, data, user experience design, digital marketing and product management from local industry experts. The agenda includes coffee and registration, a career aptitude test and sessions on finding your dream career and winning the job search.
