Austin iPhone Developer Group Meetup, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.

The Austin iPhone Developer Group meets monthly to network, present educational content, showcase apps and work, discuss iOS development, and share tip and tricks while helping each other through bugs. All iOS developers are welcome. RSVP here to learn the location.

ACA Open House - Choosing Your Coding Education, Jan. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Thinking about learning to code? Come by the Austin Coding Academy's open house at Capital Factory to learn an objective overview of the differences between various coding academies and what they offer. Snacks and drinks will be provided. 

Virtual Q&A session with Austin Admissions Counselor, Jan. 5 at 2:30 p.m.

Lauren Zimniski, the Austin admissions counselor for Dev Bootcamp, will hold a Google Hangout session to answer any questions about the program, including the admissions process, financing and schedules. To ensure a seamless connection, attendance will be limited, so please RSVP.  

Fault Tolerance in Spark: Lessons learned from production, Jan. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Austin Data Geeks and Austin Spark Meetup will co-host a joint meetup at the Amazon office on Alterra Parkway featuring guest speaker software engineer José Soltren. Soltren will be speaking at the upcoming Spark Summit East in Boston and will share a preview of what he'll cover at the summit, including the nuts and bolts of fault tolerance in Spark. 

New Year, New Career: How to Prepare for a Career Change in 2017, Jan. 6 at 8:30 a.m.

General Assembly's career coach will lead a session on building a strong personal brand digitally on your resume and LinkedIn profile to grab the attention of a hiring manager or recruiter. Learn how to show who you are, what you do, your unique skills and the value you can bring to a company.
