Digit7, a spin-off of Richardson-based digital transformation company InfoVision, this week announced its launch as an independent company. The company helps organizations solve problems and stay competitive by developing digital products and solutions that leverage next-gen technology like AI/ML, AR/VR, drone robotics, blockchain and IoT/5G.

Digital transformation has become critical for many businesses, even those that don’t strictly fall into the tech industry. Even mom-and-pop shops have largely migrated from analog cash registers to digital POS systems. Digit7 is one company helping businesses adopt digital practices through customizable, scalable products.

Some of Digit7’s products include a smart self-checkout store, D-Grab, which allows customers to shop in a cashier-less environment; and TagSquare, an AI-based auto-image annotation platform.

The speed of technology evolution in the past decade and particularly in the last two years have made technology the most important differentiator for businesses — every company has to be a technology led company,” Digit7 CEO Chithrai Mani said in a statement. We aim to enable businesses to get that technology edge with our products.

Mani was appointed as the new company’s CEO after working for InfoVision for the past five years, most recently as chief technology and innovation officer. He has over 17 years of cross-industry experience, helping many Fortune 500 companies with digital transformation.

Digit7 will continue to work out of its 15,000-square-foot innovation lab which InfoVision set up in Richardson just last year. The company is currently hiring for two sales positions tied to its Richardson office with 11 other positions open in its offices in India.

The launch of Digit7 marks an important step in its evolution,” InfoVision co-founder Raman Kovelamudi said in a statement. “The idea that we had is now ready to build its own market, brand, client and partner ecosystem — and we are thrilled by this prospect.”
