CHICAGO -- (www.twitter.com/TechAccessTV) -- Clean Energy Trust, the Midwest’s leading clean tech business accelerator, will host the inaugural Tech Showcase, a forum for the region’s best researchers to present their newest findings and developments in energy, water and waste to entrepreneurs, corporations, investors and business experts who can help commercialize their work.

The Tech Showcase will be held Wednesday, October 3rd at the University of Chicago’s Gleacher Center, 450 Cityfront Plaza in Chicago, from noon to 6 p.m. The day will be filled with research breakthrough presentations, a panel discussion and opportunities for everyone interested in clean energy to discuss its future, according to Amy Francetic, Clean Energy Trust executive director.

“The CET Tech Showcase is designed to connect applied scientists with the capital and knowledge that can bring their technology to the marketplace,” Francetic said. "Finding the most innovative, commercially deployable technology is a necessary first step in creating and building successful clean energy businesses. We are blessed with a rich assortment of energy, water and waste research here in the Midwest at first class institutions. The Tech Showcase will introduce these rock stars and their inventions to the public.”

Top scientists from the region’s most prestigious research institutions, including the University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory, Gas Technology InstituteMilwaukee Water Council, Northwestern University and Purdue University, among others, will introduce their work and explain its potential.

Successful participants in the Tech Showcase are eligible to apply for the 2013 Clean Energy Challenge business competition, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
