Every week, we dig through our events calendar and hand-select five events worth checking out. Here’s what’s on our radar this week:
Craft your career, Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
Looking for a new job, or new to the workforce? At this General Assembly workshop, you’ll learn job search tips like standing out from the crowd, nailing your interview and networking like a pro. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions from a panel of experts, including some of Colorado tech’s top recruiters.
Accountability or autonomy?, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.
One great thing about working for a startup is the autonomy employees are typically given. But sometimes having too much freedom makes it hard to ask for help. At this Spark Boulder event, Revolar’s Russ Tebaldi will share insights from his experiences and walk you through knowing when and how to ask for help.
JavaScript workshop, Mar. 1 at 6 p.m.
The Learn to Code Colorado group is hosting a JavaScript workshop this week, where they’ll focus on loops and element modification. No JavaScript skills are required, and you’ll have an opportunity to mix and mingle with other students from the community.
Building apps with Swift, Mar. 3-4
During this two-day workshop, you’ll build two apps using Swift. Hosted by Impekable Mobile Workshops, the event is great for people who would like to learn Swift. While some coding experience is helpful, it’s not required.
Play with VR at BIFF, Mar. 3-4
The Boulder International Film Festival is back in town, and they’re hosting a “virtual reality pavilion” in addition to the rest of the spectacle. The free event will have a short lineup of VR films, tech demos and networking for VR enthusiasts and dilettantes alike.
