Apply for Fall Quarter 2012 @CodeAcademy - https://codeacademy.org/apply
Today we are thrilled to announce the opening of Fall Quarter applications at Code Academy! We are currently in our fourth quarter of classes at CA, and we couldn't be more excited with the number of people we have been able to impact in less than a year. In just three quarters, we have taught 170 people how to code and/or design web applications! And with a record-breaking Summer Quarter class, we will continue to deliver world-class design and development education.
For those of you who haven't heard from us in awhile, here is an update on all the craziness at Code Academy!
Demo Day at 1871
On June 20th, we held our Spring Quarter Demo Day at 1871 as our students presented what they had built over the past three months. This demo day was different from the others as we shifted from individual to team presentations focused on creating real apps. It was amazing to see what are students were able to build in such a short time!

To see the list of the apps that our students built, go to Current Crowd (an app that one of our student teams built) to check them out! - https://cademo.currentcrowd.com
Code Academy brings home some Moxie Awards

A couple weeks ago Built in Chicago and New World Ventures held the inaugural Moxie Awards celebrating the best digital startups & companies in Chicago. Code Academy was honored to take home three Moxie Awards for Best Educational Startup, Best Bootstrapped Startup, and Best Startup Founder/Co-Founders!
Start of Summer Quarter
Only four days after the Moxie Awards, we were right back at it with the start of Summer Quarter. This has been our biggest quarter yet with a record class size and dramatic increases in our User Experience and HTML/CSS classes. We also have over 100 volunteer mentors giving their time to make our students' 3-month experience awesome, so we thank them for all of their support!
Rahm visits Code Academy

Just over a week ago, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel came to 1871 and made Code Academy his first stop on the tour! Neal and I had the great pleasure of bringing Rahm into our Web Development class to teach him a little code and give him some background on where our students are coming from and what they want to get out of the program.
Want to be a part of Code Academy? Apply now.
Applications close Sunday, August 12th at 11:59pm.
