Austin Design Week, Nov. 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Austin Design Week, featuring 60 events, kicks off Monday morning. This year’s event will feature topics like the future of AI, designing your career, feminism and place-making, playing with chalk and more. Come celebrate the creative economy through this week-long series of workshops, discussions, studio tours and events.

Human-Centered Design for Impact, Nov. 7 at 12 p.m.

Head to Impact Hub for a workshop led by Global Goals Jam that will highlight and blend the ideas from sustainable development goals, design thinking and lean methodology to inspire rapid prototypes. This is an Austin Design Week event focused on addressing global issues through the world of design. Ruben Cantu will facilitate the discussion.

Austin DeveloperWeek, Nov. 8 at 8 a.m.

Meet up with more than 3,000 application developers, dev managers and tech execs at the Palmer Events Centerfor this year’s Austin DeveloperWeek. The week of events includes conference sessions, networking opportunities and happy hours, a hackathon, hiring gatherings and more.

Coding Interview Practice, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.

Austin Hispanic Hackers Meetup will host a coding interview practice session this Wednesday at Capital Factory’s 1st floor. Learn best practices and constructive feedback for the white board interview process, watch other individuals conduct a practice interview or volunteer to participate in an interview yourself.  

Singleplayer vs. Multiplayer Level Design: a Paradigm Shift, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.

Video Game Makers Unite will host a talk on the differences of designing video games for single-player and multiplayer action shooters. Beth Beinke-Schwartz, a senior level designer at Certain Affinity, will share her own experiences from designing the games DOOM, Bioshock: Infinite, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria.
