To continue to scale and reach our goals we need talent like you. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Test Technician to join our diverse and innovative team at our facility in Torrance.

In the role of Test Technician, you will have an opportunity to be part of our growing company and it will allow you to gain valuable experience in component testing activities as well as supporting projects within our Test and Validation department. Together with our small team of experts, you will work on various tests for our high-end customers as well as the record-breaking Czinger 21C.





Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:


1)Component Testing:

a)Set up component tests to assess the structural integrity of components, materials, and prototypes.

b)Perform component testing using high-pressure hydraulic test equipment, thermal ovens, pressure pumps, etc.

c)Collaborate with technicians and engineers to understand and execute correct testing procedures.

d)Document and track test parts, keeping accurate account of what parts are where and which parts are used on which tests.


2)Data Gathering and Reporting:

a)Set up data gathering instrumentation such as load cells, strain gauges, low voltage displacement transducers, string potentiometers, thermocouples, accelerometers, etc.

b)Ensure test data is recorded and properly identified.

c)Ensure test data is transferred to company servers and reported to the engineers involved in the test.


3)Design Support:

a)Assist in optimizing test fixture designs and prototypes based on test results and feedback from a technician perspective.

b)Document defects and provide technical support during failure investigations.

c)Operate as a team and communicate needs and intents to conduct tests effectively and efficiently.


4)Maintain Work Area:

a)Use 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean, safe and efficient working area.

b)Notify the team lead when consumables are needed and keep the area stocked.

c)Assist in performing maintenance on test systems as needed.

Work Environment:


Factory environment. 

Work near moving mechanical parts (30% of time)




Requirements:


Education:

High school degree, GED or higher degree.


Licenses/Certificates:


Experience:

•Qualified candidate should have professional experience in automotive, industrial, or manufacturing settings. 

•Fully proficient in the role, expected to get started with minimal training. 

•Preference given to candidates with exposure to research and development teams.



Skills:

•Completes work with little to no assistance. Works under limited supervision with latitude for independent judgement.

•Strong proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools.

•Understanding of fasteners, torque, fittings, pressure, sealing, etc.

•Understanding of hydraulic systems.

•Understanding of electrical circuits, wiring tools, and soldering.

•Basic knowledge about data acquisition systems and test control systems.

•Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.

•Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

•Self-motivation and a hunger for continuous learning.


Physical Demands:

Able to work on-site.

Able to climb up and down the staircase.

Able to lift and carry 30+ lbs.
