We are Loop

We redefine what an earplug should sound, look and feel like. Whether it’s hearing protection or comfort for your ears, Loop enables you to live life at your volume. Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay.
In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.

Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe.

Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ‘best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ‘life changer’.

You will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning and strategy for our global operations, with current focus on Belgium, the Netherlands, the United States and China. You will be a trusted partner to the business and will provide Loop with practical advice and support in all corporate tax matters.

What you’ll do:

  • Tax Planning – Develop and implement tax strategies and policies aligned with the company’s ambitious growth objectives and in compliance with local laws and regulations. • Tax Compliance – Oversee and ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all required tax returns including corporate income tax, VAT, sales tax and other indirect taxes and customs duties
  • Tax Audits and Inquiries – Collaborate with external tax advisors and legal counsel to manage tax audits, inquiries and disputes, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing tax exposure. Build solid working relationships with both external advisors and local tax authorities
  • Risk Management – Identify and assess tax risks associated with the company’s operations and transactions and implement controls and procedures to mitigate those risks and maintain compliance
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide tax advice and support on various business initiatives and transactions, including modelling for the financial impact of taxes
  • Staying Current - Keep a watchful eye on changes in tax laws and regulations globally, assessing their potential impact on our business operations and advising senior management on necessary actions

How you'll do it:

    • You have a Masters degree in Law, Management or Economics with a post graduate qualification in Tax
    • You bring +8 years of relevant international experience in corporate tax, gained at a global company and/or international tax advisory firm. A combination of advisory and in-house experience is considered a plus

    • You have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and identify opportunities for optimization
    • You are strong with stakeholder management and communication with the ability to explain complicated tax related matters to business stakeholders with clarity and confidence
    • You are proactive and comfortable with the unclarity that comes with being part of a quickly scaling and diversifying company. You don’t back away from challenge or the unknown, but roll up your sleeves and work to find a solution.
    • You have experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
