About You and The Role

We are hiring a key finance team member to support our international operations function at Zipline, supporting Zipline’s businesses in Africa, Europe and Australia. As a core member of the Strategic Finance team, you'll partner closely with regional business leaders to optimize financial processes and drive strategic decision-making. This role will require significant travel, and we're looking for someone excited about the opportunity to travel to and work in diverse markets.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a thought partner to the Zipline’s Global Operations organization, which includes existing businesses in Africa, as well as emerging businesses in Europe and Australia.
  • Own the P&L for Zipline’s international business, including planning / forecasting, variance analysis and long-term strategic modeling.
  • Partner with our in-country finance and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of Zipline’s financial and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with in-country operations leaders to identify opportunities for enhancement and increased profitability and efficiency.
  • You will develop and maintain comprehensive operational and financial models to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with US based teams that have a significant impact on our international business, including our drop teams, logistics function and others.
  • Be accountable for driving profitability and strong cash flow for Zipline’s Platform 1 business and preparing Zipline for international expansion of Platform 2 operations.

What You'll Bring

  • You have 4+ years of experience in operational / corporate finance, professional services or similar. You are comfortable serving as a “general athlete” that can do a little bit of everything!
  • You have experience working in operationally complex businesses, preferably with international experience. You think the idea of a month with business trips to Ghana, Nigeria and Great Britain sounds like an awesome opportunity!
  • You’ve spent some time working in management consulting, investment banking or traditional FP&A but decided that working at a transformative company is right for you.
  • You are comfortable working in highly global and cross-functional environments, able to navigate seamlessly between different functions, cultures and perspectives.
  • You can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to build strong relationships with Zipline teams.
  • You like to get into the weeds and understand how businesses operate.
  • You are capable of working with imperfect information and driving to effective decision making in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have strong project management and organizational skills; you like to drive process and accountability within an organization.
  • You are an Excel wizard and can build and manage complex financial models
  • You have solid knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • It is preferred that you are based in the Bay Area.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
