We are seeking a Senior Production Manager with robust experience in the jewelry industry. This position will work on site at our vendor based in New Jersey, overseeing everything from initial CAD designs and prototyping to final production. This position requires a deep involvement in the design process, direct management of vendor relations, and a relentless focus on maintaining VRAI’s standards of quality and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine jewelry production, a passion for hands-on work, and the ability to drive projects forward in a collaborative and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  •  Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with vendors, overseeing the production process to guarantee timely delivery, adherence to established quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Implement and uphold quality control measures according to company standards, ensuring that jewelry items meet specified requirements.
  • Document and communicate QC issues with vendors for all orders, and report on corrective actions to be taken.
  • Manage production data and performance metrics to pinpoint opportunities for enhanced efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration among team members.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on production performance, including key metrics and KPIs. 
  • Ensure prompt management of returns and repairs, collaborating closely with Customer Experience and operation team to maintain transparent communication with our customers. 
  • Inspect all repairs leaving the vendor factory before shipping.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Development Manager to ensure the punctual delivery of new products, in line with our Product Development Calendar.

Requirements

  •  A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in product development within the fine jewelry industry, including familiarity with, made-to-order and drop ship business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept to production, with a portfolio showcasing successful fine jewelry launches. 
  • Extensive knowledge of jewelry CAD design, materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring teams and fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with designers, merchandisers, suppliers, and craftsmen. 
  • A strategic and creative thinker, able to execute quickly and deliver quality solutions.
