What you'll do:

Vacasa Field employees are responsible for cleaning and maintaining residential properties and for communication with the property owners. Although this communication is crucial for Vacasa success, we lack visibility and control over it. We’ve set out to build a new team that will help us change this situation. 

This team will build a new internal product consisting of a mobile app (TypeScript, React Native, Twilio Voice) and backend services (TypeScript, AWS) that will help our employees better manage owner contacts, enable better communication tracking and routing and improve owners satisfaction. 

As a senior engineer on the team, you will:

• Contribute to the full development cycle of the product (design, development, testing, release, operations)
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable and well tested code in accordance with established standards
• Participate in code and design reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Work closely with senior engineers, product managers within and outside your team
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a healthy and collaborative team culture

Skills you'll need

• Minimum 4 years of experience with software development
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that places maintainability over cleverness
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Experience with:

• Mobile app development (React Native or Native development)
• React Native (or an eagerness and confidence to learn it)
• Agile software development processes
• Writing automated tests
• Building and developing in CI/CD pipelines
• Modern backend development is a plus (we use Typescript deployed on Serverless/AWS)
• SQL and relational databases is a plus
• Working with Infrastructure as Code is a plus
