That's why we're on the search for a superstar Senior Frontend Engineer, to work with the Next Gen UX team, and help us play our part in reinventing the world of hospitality tech and travel.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Next Gen UX Squad, you will help develop new architectures, features, and best practices, as well as aid the application's front-end transformation to react. You will work on the design system component library, build new features inside of micro-frontends, and hone the automation of our deployment pipeline. This team establishes the foundation for the future interface of our core property management system. Your chance to be a part of an emerging product leading application and to streamline how hoteliers work all around the world.

Location: Canada (Remote)

What You Will Do: 

  • Participate as a member of an agile engineering team, contributing (following best practices) to our application codebase on a daily basis.
  • You will primarily be implementing features and improvements utilizing React.js and Typescript, but also work with Vue.js.
  • We would also like you to help lead discussions on complex technical concepts and requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - including within the frontend architecture group.
  • You should be familiar with writing clean, well-tested, well-documented, and elegant code.
  • Support a team environment where skill, knowledge and capability are fostered and highly valued.
  • Drive the optimization and flexibility of our software engineering process, ensuring we get the best outcome possible from CI/CD and Agile approaches.
  • Drive progress in planning, prioritizing, and executing assigned tasks within deadlines.
  • Assist in researching new technologies to ensure best fit, quality and outcome.
  • Collaborate effectively on technical design, with peers (often in other teams) on complex features.

You’ll Succeed With: 

  • 5+ years of web application software engineering experience
  • Highly focused on Frontend development, using a range of typescript frameworks such as React and Vue. 
  • A love of UI / UX design.
  • Strong knowledge of modern Typescript design patterns, best practices and technologies, like Chakra and global state management.
  • Experience with testing frontend code: unit, integration, and end-to-end..
  • Experience of modern infrastructure tooling (Git/Github, Docker, DataDog, Github Actions).
  • A strong business sense and ability to collaborate with leadership and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projects
  • Strong knowledge and a passion for software engineering best practices, design patterns, and automated testing.
  • Strong teamwork and time management skills.
  • Passionate about agile practices and continuous improvement.
  • Business-level English fluency required (verbal and written skills).

Nice to Have: 

  • Building or working with webpack federation modules (micro-frontends).
  • Experience working with remote-first and globally-distributed teams.
  • Experience of engineering software for large scale solutions, utilizing modern tooling to get you there.
  • Travel industry experience is a plus but definitely not required.
  • Experience with Atlassian products [JIRA/Confluence/BitBucket].
  • Experience working with PHP, Python, Go, and/or JAVA would be useful but not necessary.
