Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking Pipe Stress Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formally GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). For candidates not local to the Ogden area, this position can be supported remotely (i.e. work from home)! This position supports a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. While this role is supporting a 4-6 month assignment, this opportunity is a full-time/benefitted opportunity with Cimarron.
Key Duties:
- Locate and perform pipe support design, originating related calculations using GTStrudl in accordance with DoD UFC standards, AISC & ASME B31.3, or applicable codes as applicable.
- Review and approve layouts and isometrics as required.
- Use GTStrudl for pipe support frame analysis.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- 5 or more years of related experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and piping codes.
- Familiar with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3.
- Ability to review/approve piping layouts & support requirements per DoD standards/ASME B31.3.
- Hands-on experience using a stress analysis program.
- Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Previous DoD project experience.
- Hands-on experience using a structural frame analysis program.
- PE Registration.
- Previous Bechtel project experience.
