Clarity Partners is seeking a GIS Manager local to Chicago, IL. This individual will be leading a large-scale public sector facing project related to Geographic Information System technology, programming & application development. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop enterprise GIS architecture and solutions, including database, application, and technology architectures.
  • Develop long-term strategies for GIS infrastructure and services.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of GIS solutions, ensuring seamless integration with other enterprise systems: EAM, Salesforce, and P6.
  • Lead GIS projects from conception through implementation and support; manages project timelines, technical guidance, and team resources.
  • Administer and maintain On-Prem ArcGIS Enterprise Servers, Portal, and Data Store; monitors system health and perform regular updates and maintenance ensuring optimal performance and availability, including major system version upgrades.
  • Manage client projects related to GIS database design and management, qualitative/quantitative analysis, mapping, and data visualization.
  • Supervise and collaborate with GIS team members regarding product design and delivery requirements for the client.
  • Prepare scopes, schedules, budgets, assumptions, and constraints for client project.
  • Oversee adherence to project plans and established business processes, including quality and project management standards.
  • Monitor GIS database and system performance, address possible issues and ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality information to the client.
  • Provides guidance to team members to successfully delivery across the full project lifecycle.
  • Cultivate and manage client relationships and guide application of services to best serve the interests of the client.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years or more of experience as a GIS Manager, or similar position with professional level experience in design, development, implementation, and administration of a GIS enterprise environment.
  • Strong production management capabilities and a proven understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ownership and accountability for work.
  • Capability to work in a dynamic environment, including a demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing client priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of individuals from various backgrounds, including engineers, planners, analysts, developers, and other client leadership.
  • Proficient in the use of Esri's ArcGIS desktop applications for data analysis and creating presentation-quality maps.
  • Experience developing web and mobile applications in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS.
  • Experience creating automated data management processes or modifying web applications using Python, HTML, JavaScript, or other applicable languages.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, working in, and updating Esri enterprise database environments. Previous experience working with versioned datasets is strongly preferred.
  • Strong SQL server capabilities including building and understanding queries, developing and managing views, and understanding stored procedures/jobs.
  • Experience creating reports or dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or Microsoft Power BI.
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in GIS, Geography, or other science-related field.
