Job Description

As a Financial Reconciliation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data through meticulous reconciliation processes. You will be responsible for comparing and verifying financial records, identifying discrepancies, and collaborating with various departments to resolve issues efficiently. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and optimizing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, checking accounts and savings accounts for all 14 Central Bank markets including any agent banks.

Complete general ledger entries, while also reviewing financial records to identify and rectify any discrepancies.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential errors, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly, collaborating with the appropriate market and department in order address any underlying issues and implement corrective actions.

Maintain detailed documentation of reconciliation processes, discrepancies, and resolution actions taken.

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices in all reconciliation activities.

Stay up to date on regulatory changes or any internal changes and incorporate them into reconciliation procedures as necessary. Continuously assess and enhance reconciliation processes to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and minimize risks.

Identify opportunities for automation or system enhancements to optimize workflow.

Collaborate with various departments including finance, audit, compliance, and risk management to address reconciliation-related issues and implement process improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. (Not required but preferred)

2 years' experience in financial reconciliation or related role within the banking or financial services industry. (Not required but preferred)

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. Proficient skills in Excel preferred.

Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
