About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a ETL Developer/AWS Engineer.
This position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the business intelligence platform, QlikSense, operations and participate in the planning and execution of upgrades and enhancements within the AWS environment. This includes development, implementation and maintenance of access control and security for the enterprise system. This also includes designing, developing and maintaining interoperability with approved systems.
This also includes proactive monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting of operational issues and deployed features while implementing industry best practices and methodologies. Candidates must be willing to work non-standard work hours in the event of production deployments, changes, and upgrades to minimize disruptions to the end user experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
System Engineer Tasks
Function as a technical expert of QlikSense enterprise platform hosted via DoIT AWS environment.
Proactively monitor performance, recommend and apply upgrades and modifications to ensure optimal
performance.
Assist with platform upgrades and updates, including secondary products used to deliver enhanced solutions.
Assist with modification and maintenance of system configuration in order to meet business needs.
Lead technical troubleshooting and resolution in support of the platform, environment, and deployed
solutions.
Identify opportunities for improved systems management through adoption of additional tools and functions.
Develop, implement, and monitor access control and security for the enterprise level system architecture.
Systems Integration Tasks
Lead implementation of migration plans for existing systems to the QlikSense platform.
Lead implementation processes and policies for platform interoperability with other enterprise platforms and
systems.
Test and ensure compatibility and usability of integrated platforms and systems prior to production launch.
Document technical instructions regarding platform and system integration workflows and processes.
Develop and maintain automated processes to assist with expediting repeatable processes.
Develop innovative solutions for improving the ingestion, access, and maintenance through data
management practices.
Solutions Development Tasks
Function as a technical expert during requirements analysis, design, development, maintenance and support
phases for new solutions development and enhancement projects.
Contribute to technical designs detailing input, processes, output, and controls using narrative reports and
analysis tools such as flowcharts, diagrams, operating instructions, program documentation, user
documentation, documentation to support software changes, test plans, scope statements and other
deliverables required by the work request or project.
Train support staff on maintenance of the delivered solutions.
Develop and assist with Proxies, Security Rules, and all aspects of management within the Qlik
Management Console for the Qlik Sense and Qlik Analytics Platform (including GeoAnalytics, and
NPrinting installation and management).
Contribute to maintenance of access security for use profiles, groups, roles and object queues as well as
object level, record level and field level permissions.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:
Master's Degree (*Preferred)
Additional Requirements:
Previous experience in enterprise level business / systems analysis.
Problem solver who pays strong attention to detail.
Demonstrating critical thinking and consulting experience.
Comfortable with leadership roles and able to assist teams with collaboration of projects.
Proven experience in eliciting requirements.
Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and
tools.
A minimum of four (4) years of professional experience building Business Intelligence Applications within
QlikSense.
A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience with administration of users and security rules in
the QlikSense Management Console.
Professional experience with programming languages, including SQL, Python, or JavaScript;
Professional experience working within AWS cloud infrastructure.
Working knowledge in the use of QVD data formats in QlikSense.
