We are seeking an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Engineer/Expert overseeing and leading all EMC related activities of WiTricity's wireless power systems. The position will be based at our Mägenwil location in Switzerland. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English. Fluency in German is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and analyze possible EMC issues, propose solutions, and take mitigation measures.
  • Perform meaningful and constructive emission measurements using state-of-the art test equipment.
  • Based on your expertise and work experience propose and provide design improvements/recommendation at an early stage of the hardware development process.
  • Maintain, improve, automate EMC lab facility.
  • Take a lead in EMC pre-compliance and compliance test campaigns in internal and external lab facilities.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are understood, met and applied within the defined scopes and the employee area of work responsibility.
  • Identify product and process special characteristics with compliance to customer- or WiTricity-specified SC and symbols.
  • Use engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including FMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Control Plan (CP) and Project Management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (Physics, etc.). Master's degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3+/5+ (Master/Bachelor) years of work experience in an industry/EMC facility/EMC laboratory.
  • Strong practical expertise and understanding of radiated and conducted emissions.
  • Deep understanding of electromagnetism is desirable.
  • In depth knowledge and operating principles of EMC measurement equipment.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skill set.
  • Methodical and goal orientated mind set.
  • Proficient in low frequency (LF) and high frequency (HF) measurement techniques.
  • Hands on expertise in analog LF and HF circuits as well as PCB design with focus on EMC performance.
  • Proficiency in testing/validation methodologies (experimental/simulation/theory).
  • Ability to transfer the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise into a cost-effective solution.
  • Measurement system automatization and data analysis with MATLAB, Python, etc. is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in a globally distributed company at different sites.
  • Experience with industry standards and certifications related to wireless charging is a plus.
  • Experience with Power Electronics is a plus.
  • Experience in Automotive industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in highly technical environment and work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Laboratory notebook management/documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English is required, German is a plus).
  • Knowledge and usage of electromagnetic field simulation tools (COMSOL, CST Studio, HFSS) is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of product hardware and software engineering risk analysis methods with execution (FTA, D/PFMEA, etc.)
