Make Your Mark:
The Director of Business Development will direct all activities of BlackLine's internal team of Business Development, in support of the Global Sales teams. This includes coordinating BDR activity between internal and outside resources; overseeing internal BDR activity and results; recruiting and training qualified BDR Representatives, Team Leads, and Managers. The Director will manage the North America and EMEA BDR Managers and is responsible for overall BDR results. This position reports to the VP of Strategy and will support Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Account Management Sales teams both in the US and internationally in building pipeline, developing sales qualified leads (SLQs ) and tracking lead hand-offs to close deals.
You'll Get To:

  • Manages BDR Managers and teams in the North America and EMEA regions.
  • ​ Set performance targets for the BDR team in line with Sales Objectives, including identifying and tracking key performance indicators for evaluating BDR performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, and be responsible for performance against those targets
  • ​ Create a BDR Team Structure and Hiring Plan to meet Sales objectives, including the number of BDRs, Team Leads, and Managers; their location; and their alignment to the global Sales organization
  • ​ Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of all BDR Team Members
  • ​ Oversee compensation of BDRs, including determining bonus structure to meet Sales objectives .
  • ​ Partner with Enablement to create a Training Program for BDRs that ensures adequate competency and rapid time to productivity .
  • ​ Create policies and rules of engagement for BDR team
  • ​ Resolve any disputes with good judgement in regard to account ownership, credit for results, or other issues that may arise in the day-to-day operations of the BDR team
  • ​ Work with Marketing to ensure that BDR activity aligns properly with Marketing campaigns and activity Oversee the day-to-day activities, priorities, and performance of the BDR team
  • ​ Provide accurate reports on results and forecasts as required ​ Provide insights to Marketing on prospect and customer needs/wants/comments to continue to improve our messaging and campaigns


What You'll Bring:
Years of Experience in Related Field: 10+ years
Education : Bachelor's degree
Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Accounting or Business degree preferred
  • ​ Have at least 5 year of sales management or similar experience, with a track record of hitting numbers and delivering results ​

Salary Range:
USD $148,000.00 - USD $197,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
