The Opportunity

This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the Core Diagnostics Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

As the Associate Capital Project Analyst, you'll be responsible for the analysis and readiness of Request for Capital Expenditure (RCE) and Cash flow forecasting and assisting Project Managers as needed on subcomponents of capital projects in coordination with cross functional team members.

What You'll Work On

  • Manage, review multiple, diverse, and global project Request for Capital Expenditures (RCEs) and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accurate project submission by being responsible for approval process for all Core DX capital projects as the first gate keeper -ensure smooth RCE process flow.
  • Track and trend capital related metrics to ensure execution to annual Capital Plan authorizations and expenditures for the Division.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Capital Planning Teams/SharePoint database in partnership with the broader team
  • Responsible for training and as needed on Capital Processes for Core DX
  • Liaison to RCE database owner to report and resolve issues with the system for Core DX
  • Consults with key stakeholders to develop project requirements; tracks performance to project plans and executes on final project delivery.
  • Monitors budget expenditures, identifies systemic problems, and makes recommendations for resolution.
  • Regularly meets with regional teams to identify and plan continuous improvement initiatives, hold project status reviews, and participates in the execution of local initiatives.
  • Responsible for the building planning and capacity charts analysis; keeps in proper communication for ongoing building maintenance requirements along with safety, corporate facility groups, and any other groups as needed.
  • Understands business environment aptitude to gain knowledge of internal and external technological activities to trends
  • Executes ad-hoc/one-off purchases in SAP systems as needed
  • Adapts to changing business strategies and adjusts capital planning activities accordingly.
  • Must have proven ability to participate in team atmosphere, exhibit and create a sense of appropriate urgency and maintain working relationships, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to leadership.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other quality and regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year experience to understand systems and procedures. Limited project management experience, with demonstrated leadership skills on portions of a project or other activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of a particular technological field. Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/ relationships. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and performance metrics, as well as financial and capital project acumen.
  • Experience in working on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment independently within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Has broad knowledge of various technical alternatives and their potential impact on the business. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

The base pay for this position is

$62,700.00 - $125,300.00
