At Altium, the employee value proposition asks the team to “Question everything. Stop at nothing.” Digital Sales Manager Keshia Sellers and the renewals sales team has taken this maxim to heart as they set goals to push their department into the next level of customer service and excellence.

What Altium Does

Altium’s software platform for printed circuit board design allows professionals to work together across the entire electronics creation chain, from development to manufacturing, to speed product development in an array of industries.

Even as Sellers encourages her team to focus on developing sales skills, product knowledge and leveling up their abilities, she knows that an encouraging and empowering culture is at the core of their ability to reach their goals.

“My vision is a collaborative environment where the team feels safe to share, connect, learn and grow with one another,” Sellers told Built In. She added that she takes a strategic approach to building an inclusive atmosphere in which team members feel valued and respected.

“As a leader, I strive to establish clear goals, provide growth opportunities, address conflicts constructively, recognize and reward achievements, and promote a healthy work-life balance,” she said.

This cultural focus leads to positive long-term outcomes for Sellers’ team and provides opportunities for deeper engagement from all members while supporting Altium’s larger business goals.

“Ultimately, a healthy team culture will lead to improved productivity and higher job satisfaction,” she said. “Culture evolves over time, and it requires continuous effort and commitment from all team members to create an environment that enables everyone to thrive.”

Built In learned more about how Sellers is supporting her thriving team through concrete tools, valuable partnerships and a strong vision for success.

How do you help your team grow their careers?

Team members are encouraged to find and create their own path forward with the help of our leadership team’s guidance and mentorship. If we notice a particular skill set or quality in someone that might lead them to their next position, we challenge the individual to hone in on it. We also challenge team members to set goals and accomplish tasks outside of the workplace. This leads to increased happiness in their personal life and greater success overall.

What are some of the most impactful employee resource group initiatives your company has created to bring diverse talent to the organization?

As a global organization, Altium is great at encouraging open communication and celebrating diversity, which is a big part of why I like coming to work. Our women’s empowerment channel celebrates success stories of both women and men who are making a positive impact through the organization.

Altium also partners with Women in Electronics. WE provides all Altium employees with the exclusive benefit of participating in a mentorship program that connects them to the electronics industry and provides access to mentors and leadership development guidance.

What does Altium have to offer top talent?

Working for a company that offers the best PCB design software on the market gives us the confidence to sell and position the software in a way that delivers value to our customer base. An employee that trusts in the company and the product will find it easy and fun to come to work and even more of a no-brainer to plant their feet and stay a while. While Altium is a 38-year-old company, we have the feel of a startup. This means everyone’s ideas are valued and the contributions each individual makes are meaningful.

Overall, Altium has tremendous growth opportunities and values its people while challenging them to be their best. With the guidance of leadership, employees really have the creative freedom to own their future. The feedback from my sales representatives is often about the flexibility, work-life balance and stability of working for such an established organization.
