Our Non-Financial Risk Management Analytics team deploys the latest analytical tools to monitor and analyze risk across the entire Bank, putting intelligent and timely information in the hands of risk managers allowing them to act quickly to manage their changing operational risk environment.

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the ongoing development and administration of Citizens' enhanced use of data and analytics designed to identify potential operational and compliance risk. This successful candidate will lead and manage the development life cycle associated with new data analytics, reporting, and process automation projects. The candidate will liaison between business line stakeholders, risk partners, data providers and the Enterprise Data Office development team to support existing and new capabilities within the broader Compliance organization.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Using stakeholder knowledge and other available resources to research, to facilitate discovery, and to analyze and evaluate options for data solution.
  • Managing all deliverables, process or project materials, communications, and acting as a liaison between internal technology resources and the key stakeholders while ensuring appropriate visibility, escalation and resolution of project risks and issues
  • Working with the business lines to review data sources, data inconsistencies, and business logic for initiating data discovery.
  • Parsing and manipulating raw, complex data streams to prepare for loading into an analytical tool; delving into complex data from systems to discover hidden relationships and useful information.
  • Write and maintain business requirement documentation including overall solution design, data definitions, process flows, test cases and test script(s)
  • Through consultation and engagement with the development team, design metric-based visualizations to facilitate risk oversight and senior leadership decision-making.
  • Train key stakeholders on the analysis of trends, notable changes and their potential risk impact
  • Develop concise executive status updates and program-level reporting.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • 5+ years Financial Services experience (preferably in banking) with previous experience in regulatory compliance risk management or similar role
  • 3+ years of project management related to process analysis and business intelligence within consumer financial services preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and an innovative approach to solving both practical and theoretical problems.
  • Proficient in coding Python and other data analytics tools/languages (such as SQL, Alteryx, R)
  • Using stakeholder knowledge and other available resources to research, to facilitate discovery, and to analyze and evaluate options for data solution.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and cross-functional business and senior stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to present to both a technical and non-technical audience, presenting data with confidence to business leadership in both informal and formal presentation settings.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Some experience in visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the design and coding of data extract, transform, and load (ETL), data analytics, and process automation utilizing various automated analytical tools.
  • Creating analytical datasets from large data sources through the development of highly efficient reusable code structures
  • Working knowledge of AWS data profiling tools and other AWS data tools
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum practices
  • Experience with SDLC tools and methods including Jira, Git, CI/CD
  • Experience with machine learning models and related concepts a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Finance or equivalent required
  • Master's degree preferred.

Hours and Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 remote

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
