Earlier this week I was thinking about how great Denver is for so many reasons. There are limitless cool activities to enjoy, no matter what you're into. The people here and general sense of community are both great -- it's not everywhere that you'll discover your neighbors shoveled your sidewalk for you, but that's pretty typical around here (if you're nice to your neighbors, anyway).
And for startups, it's pretty much a dream come true. You get to live in an awesome city that supports your dreams and helps you succeed in a number of different ways. For example, there are tons of resources like the Denver SBDC and local startup incubators. The Mile High City's small businesses also have major political support from Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock, who has been working hard to grow Denver's startup scene and make it "the small business capital of the world."
Also, there are many successful entrepreneurs here who are available as resources to help you in your entrepreneurship journey. You can find them by attending any of the local entrepreneur meetups, which happen almost daily here. Not to mention awesome events like Denver Startup Week, which is a can't-miss if you want to find like-minded individuals with whom you can collaborate, learn from, or simply make friends (or, better yet, all of the above!).
This is just a handful of what there is for entrepreneurs to love about Denver. If you'd like, you can read more on this topic at an article I wrote here on the AppIt Ventures blog. I'd also love any comments about what YOU love about starting a business in Denver, CO!
