For a scenic stop on the Startup Crawl, visit AlchemyAPI in the RiverPoint Building at Confluence Park. Located on the Platte River in between downtown and LoHi, the office boasts some amazing views. According to marketing director Audrey Klammer, since AlchemyAPI is planning on tripling its staff in the next year, they recently decided to take over the entire top floor of the building.

 

 

AlchemyAPI brings the power of artificial intelligence to the masses through its cloud-based API. As the world’s most popular text analysis service, it is used by over 35,000 developers and completes over 3 billion API transactions per month.

In addition to the usual Startup Crawl fare—kegerator stocked with local beer, ping pong, food—the company is giving away a Nexus 7 tablet to one lucky visitor. Winning the tablet requires playing a game of “Guess That Image” with AlchemyAPI’s new image recognition system.

 

 

The goal is to beat the speed and accuracy of the vision machine. For additional tech amusement, visitors can see how the computer vision system performs when given a webcam and a series of random objects.
