[ibimage==20842==Original==none==self==ibimage_align-center]Denver technology company Uber is facing a threat from the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. The PUC recently proposed changes to rules that would effectively shut down Uber's operations in Colorado.

"Since our launch five months ago, Uber has made great strides in creating a convenient, efficient, and classy transportation alternative in Denver. Uber’s technology platform has improved transportation options for thousands of Denverites, and has helped grow the small businesses of hundreds of our driver partners," says UberDenver General Manager Will McCollum.

Should the proposed rule changes be enforced, shutting down UberDenver would be detrimental to both those who value an upscale alternative to the traditional taxi cab and the business community as a whole. It means the loss of jobs for hundreds of drivers, the loss of a highly valued service for the general public, and dampens the very kind of innovation and small business development that we seek to build in Denver.

As members of the digital startup community, itis imperative that we stand up for innovation and entrepreneruship. Show your support, and help keep UberDenver moving forward:

- Sign the petition

- Spread the word and your #UberDENVERLove

- Contact Governor Hickenlooper, Joshua Epel (Chairmand of the PUC), and Doug Dean (Director of the PUC)
