Do you ski?
It's the consumate Colorado question. When you meet someone around here for the first time, you'll ask where they're from, then you'll ask if they ski. If you both ski, that'll lead to some great conversations. If you don't, conversation might die right there. It's the second question that makes the difference.
A Great! First Date is all about better second questions because my Co-Founder Tim and I believe that better second questions lead to better dates, and better dates lead to better connections.
Our site is organized around what we call pillars, those things that you do on a daily basis and those things that you'd love to talk about with someone else. When you've selected the four pillars of you, you simply add various events related to those pillars. Love to ski? Just add a note about your trip to Vail. You can upload Instagram photos and even Instagram video from your trip. Love to workout? Just add a note about your last run. Each pillar becomes of timeline of the things you do, and you match with someone else based on those pillars.
The result is that first e-mails become, "Hey, your trip to Vail looked great. The powder looked amazing." Instead of, "Uhh... hi. I like your profile." First dates become, "Let's try Izakaya Den, I know we both love sushi and I haven't been forever!" Instead of, "Want to grab a drink with me?" Our hope is that your first dates start to feel like third dates.
Our site is that simple, and that's something we are proud of. There are no measures of compatibility, no tests, no ridiculous search criteria, and no need for a professional to write your profile for you.
Check us out and let us know what you think. We're proud to be a Denver based company, and we can't wait to see how we can help people make better connections. We happen to think it's the coolest work we could do.
Sincerely,
Rory
