CENTENNIAL – Innovation Pavilion, an ecosystem for startups, is partnering with Minneapolis-based Maverick Software Consulting to match talented computer science students with IP’s network of local startups and Denver area corporations, the two companies announced.
Since 2006, Maverick has developed a first-of-its-kind partnership model, bringing top computer science students to major corporations with software development and software testing needs.
The company recently adapted its model to cater to emerging companies experiencing a shortage of tech talent, opening the door to students looking to work in an innovative, up-and-coming workplace, Maverick said.
“We have spent years building our model of bringing computer science students to large corporations across Minnesota as a proven solution to the growing tech talent shortage, and we are excited to also begin working with smaller, emerging companies in Colorado,” said Martin Hebig, Maverick’s founder and president.
“According to industry predictions, there will be one million more computer-related jobs than computer science graduates available to fill them within the next seven years, so this partnership with Innovation Pavilion will provide Colorado-based organizations with a pipeline of technology talent.”
Maverick said it will leverage its network of more than 12 universities across Colorado to find and match top computer science students remotely while handling all training, administrative and human resources tasks on behalf of their clients.
Innovation Pavilion uses flexible real estate options, mentorship programs, service provider contracts, corporate relations and structured funding programs to create a space filled with entrepreneurs eager to exchange ideas and create collaborations.
“Partnering with Maverick will strengthen Innovation Pavilion’s mission to help both startups and corporations succeed in the Colorado area,” said Vic Ahmed, IP’s founder.
“Tech companies are in need of talent, and bringing young talent to these businesses is both cost-effective and mutually beneficial to both the companies and the students who will soon be working in the field.”
