Incubators and accelerators are only as good as the companies that work there. Innovative companies are the backbone of any incubator, and that truth makes the recent signings byInnosphere big news. Six new companies have signed on as clients for 2014.

“This first new group of 2014 client companies reaffirms that Innosphere has another exciting year ahead of supporting the innovation ecosystem and Colorado startups,” said Mike Freeman, Innosphere CEO, in a press release. “These new companies come from all the industries Innosphere exists to support and include three clean technology companies, two software and one bioscience startup company.”

Innosphere is an forward thinking incubator focused on enabling entrepreneurs to create a sustainable future with an emphasis on clean technology. Innosphere has locations in Ft. Collins and in Golden, as part of the Center for Renewable Energy Economic Development, which is co-located in side the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the only federal lab of its kind.

After an impressive 2013, Innosphere hopes to bring even more stimulation to Colorado’s economy of innovation. These six new startups will continue the legacy of 28 other Innosphere graduate companies. Incoming companies for the class of 2014 include VAIREX air systems, WeatherCloud, and Prieto Battery representing the Clean Tech sector. New bioscience app Kindara joins startups 30db and eGauge in the incubator as well.

Boulder-based Kindara has already found early success, achieving the top spot on the App Store Free Medical Chart and helping 10,000 women get pregnant in the last 12 months. Kindara puts “fertility in your hands” by giving women the proper tools to understand their fertility and “be in the driver’s seat” of their own body.

30db, still in its Alpha release, scours the web and aggregates opinions on any topic of the users choosing. This allows users to quickly grasp where public thought lies on any variety of topics, and its implications for brands are both obvious and substantial. “It’s been great working with 30dB, as we’re helping them with introductions to strategic investors and the Colorado angel investor community,” said Doug Johnson, Innosphere VP of capital access.

eGauge is a fledgling software-as-a-service startup that offers companies a suite of tools designed to optimize an organization’s resources to best match its goals. Beta testing is upcoming, but early results have been extremely promising. Doug Johnson reports that smaller business clients of eGauge have reported an average increase of 52 percent in revenue while larger ones saw gains of 10 to 15 percent. eGauge offers tools to streamline every facet of running a business, (e)Strategy, (e)Talent, (e)Process, and (e)Work.
