Have you noticed a string of successful tech-based acquisitions and IPOs recently in our region? Since 2008, venture capitalist firms have invested over $3.5 billion in Colorado-based technology companies and our state has emerged as a top generator of technology innovation between the coasts, ranking the third most venture capital per capita of any state.

The Colorado technology community will celebrate the growing potential of our technology community at the inaugural Colorado Venture Summit, an invitation-only event on June 19.

This new conference will bring together CEOs of Colorado venture-backed companies with out-of-region and local venture capitalists featuring content from the tech economy here, overviews of successful venture-backed companies along with panel discussions on the benefits of our local environment for young tech companies.

We're expecting about 100 of the area’s top CEOs and founders and the conference will be held at Coors Field in downtown Denver with a private dinner followed by an Evening After Party at Fado’s Irish Pub.

A highlight of the Summit will be panel discussions offering different perspectives on the burgeoning tech scene in Colorado. Jeff Diehl, managing director for Adams Street Partners from Chicago and Mike Majors, managing director for Siemens Venture Capital from Boston will discuss how the industry outside of Colorado views companies and the opportunity in the region. In another panel, local tech executives John Levisay, CEO for Sympoz, Walter Knapp, CEO for Sovrn and Dick Williams, CEO for Webroot will discuss the advantages of building a company in the state.

Additionally on Friday, June 20, attendees can schedule individual site visits at Colorado venture-backed companies. Scheduling and sign-ups will be available before and during the event.
