Did you go to Ignite Denver on Wednesday? Well I was a first timer, and I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. 

At first I thought to myself, "Really, did I just listen to someone rant about spell check and auto-correct for five minutes?" 

Then, as I worked on finishing my second beer I relaxed enough to get what the objective was here. It really wasnt about absorbing all the information someone was speaking about, but more about taking a moment to chill out and realize that what really drives us all forward is our passion. In this community ambition can be a double edged sword. It pushes our innovation and tough work ethic, but sometimes we end up so far buried in the weeds that its hard to remember to breathe and just have some fun. Maybe I am just describing my own personal experience, but I get the feeling that this isnt so uncommon these days and that most can at least relate to what Im saying.

As I listened to presentations on the UX of Daily Life, How to Fail When Moving into a New Office, and finally my favorite: What if Being Miserable Was The Best Thing That Ever Happened to You, I saw what this event really does is keep it fresh! 

Maybe next year I'll talk about the importance of keeping your desk clean (Im a neat freak!). Or, maybe how the right genre of music to listen to while working can increase your productivity like no other (right now I've got a heavy dose of Dawes pumping though my headphones)! 

Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers that helped make this happen. I have you to thank for pulling my head out of the weeds and giving me a reinvigorated perspective.
