gSchool’s first Boulder cohort will be having their first demo day on Tuesday, June 3rd at 5:30pm at Galvanize’s new campus on 1035 Pearl Street. If you or your company are interested in hiring a rock star junior developer later this summer, you should definitely attend to see the software the students are building half-way through the program. One of our students (congrats Andrew!) was already hired -- so now’s the time to make connections!
The 24-week full stack developer training program ends late August, and many will be seeking employment as a junior developer in the Front Range area. Some of the 24 students will demo their personal projects at the demo. Here’s a brief description of the apps that will be demo’d:
"Tibetan Translator Community - A Crowdsourced Tibetan Dictionary" by @bluevajra
A community dictionary allowing translators, students and academics of the Tibetan language to comment and discuss translation terms and philosophy.
“Drank" by @kericlowes
A place where users can track the wines they drank and what they thought of them.
“OneFeed" by @Nathanael_Burt
An app that allows users to combine multiple social media networks into one stream so that they can interact with their friends in one place.
"StubHub Inventory Manager" by @_MarkSEvans
New UI for StubHub using StubHub and PayPal API's.
“It’s Gif, Not Jif” by @JennyAllar
One asshole’s approach to an animated gif database and repository.
"Picky Eater” by @RainLogic
A website to help picky eaters, aka people who have dietary restrictions.
"Listen To" by @BebePeng
An app that allows users to create and share a list of youtube songs that they enjoy listening to.
“GiftHorse” by @marthaberner
An app to simplify and facilitate gift giving through connectivity and simplicity.
