Dev Bootcamp is coming to Austin!

Dev Bootcamp pioneered the immersive coding bootcamp model in San Francisco in 2012. In the last three years, they have opened successful campuses in Chicago and New York. The 19-week program begins with nine weeks of part-time work at home (called Phase 0) so that students show up on orientation day with similar preparation.

Following Phase 0, students spend nine weeks full-time on campus (1705 Guadalupe), with full-time instructors and career coaches. Every day is spent focusing on hands-on learning, collaborative coding, and the real-world practices of tech teams. Dev Bootcamp focuses on pair programming, group projects, and developing on-the-job learning skills so new developers can hit the ground running in entry level developer jobs.

Although Dev Bootcamp is new to Austin, Austin already has about 15 alumni from other Dev Bootcamp campuses working as devs at companies like SalesForce, OwnLocal, HealCode and Treehouse.

New Campus Director Whitney O'Banner joins Dev Bootcamp from Apple, where she led a traveling team around the world launching Transit Apps. Whitney also has a computer science degree and prior technical experience at Amazon.

Dev Bootcamp does require an application, including beginner code tutorials and a video interview. Read more about what to expect on their blog. Their first cohort will start Phase 0 (part-time prep) on May 2nd, and begin the on-site immersion in July.
